Thank you so much to each and every one of you for being part of our growing community. We really love what we’re achieving together and are so pleased we’ve got you on board with our mission of strengthening the charity sector 💜!
As we do grow, it’s important that we always stay true to our core values of friendliness, openness, safety, and genuineness. So, it’s time we shared our Community ‘Netiquette’ - our code of behaviour & etiquette for the CC Community.

Helping out:
You, yes YOU, can help make the CharityConnect community a richer place by sharing your very own knowledge and experiences 😍! The community is full of charity questions and people looking for advice so it’s SUPER amazing when you help out by contributing solutions, offering advice and sharing similar experiences you've had.
Questions and answers are essential to the CharityConnect forum. When you answer someone’s question, not only do you help them out, but you help CharityConnect achieve our mission of strengthening the charity sector as a whole! Happy days, eh?!
Here are some A⭐️ examples of people helping out in the community:
- Emily Hughes: ‘’Hey Lizzi, I've just made one for our corporates with volunteering options if that's something you'd be interested in? It's been well received so far, if you're interested I can ping one over to you :-)‘’ 👏 A brilliant example of helping out by sharing resources!
- Jed Ramsay's empathetic, friendly and knowledgeable advice to an anonymous member!
- Alice DABROWSKA’s genuine CRM recommendation: ‘’We use Salesforce CRM.  They have been wonderful and have free licences and the system is super adaptable.. Great reporting, dashboards, forms etc.  We have no complaints’’

Ways to say thank you on CharityConnect:
One of CharityConnect’s core values is friendliness which means we believe saying ‘thank you’ is one of the most important interactions that takes place in our community 🤗.
If someone helps you out and takes the time to share their advice with you, please do let them know that you appreciate it. You can do this in any way you please, and as always, the more creative the better!
Here’s a few ideas to get your appreciation juices flowing:
1) Replying with a Thank you, Cheers or even a cheeky Gracias 💃
2) Using emojis 🙏 💐 🙌 to display your ❤️ and gratitude
3) Hitting the good ol’ fashioned like 👍 button
And here are some lovely examples of people saying thank you on CharityConnect:
- Alix Lewer: ‘’Thank you for the good advice and words of encouragement - definitely exciting times (if a little busy!)’’
- Victoria Abbott-Fleming: ‘’Thank You very much for your reply and comments! It’s been extremely helpful. We have a demo booked in for next month so thank you for your help :)‘’
- Sam Munjal's simple and effective ‘’thank you so much for the advice!‘’

Welcoming people to the community:
We want CharityConnect to feel like the online community version of a real-life hug 🤗! To help us make the community radiate kindness and warmth, we would love you to help us welcome our CharityConnect ‘newbies’!
Ways to greet the newbies:
1) Say hello on our Newbie’s Thread 👋. We’ve heard this is where all the new kids hang out, so head on over, say hello and get connecting!
We love Claire Reynolds' welcome to Patrick: ‘’Hi Patrick, good luck in your new role :)’’
2) Warmly welcome any first-time posters 😊. On any post, underneath the poster’s name you’ll see how long they’ve been a member for. If they’re a ‘newbie’, show them your support by commenting and saying hello!
Shout out to Ciaran Kennedy for this lovely welcome: ‘’Hi Antonella, Welcome to the UK and welcome to Charity Connect :)’’

We believe that by making CharityConnect safe, friendly and a really lovely place to hang out and share advice, we'll grow in the right way and become the go-to community for all UK charity professionals. So thanks again for taking these guidelines on board and being such a lovely community! If you've got any questions, as always, just get in touch.
The CharityConnect Team ✌ 💖
