I’d love some advice - Developing a career in policy and advocacy

Recruitment

Karen Richardson Volunteer Campaigns Ambassador at Cancer Research UK Posted 9 months ago

Hi all,
I'd really appreciate some advice. I'm relatively new to the sector, I'm a Volunteer Campaigns Ambassador for Cancer Research UK and I absolutely love it.
I am keen to switch careers from marketing into policy and advocacy. I am almost certain I have some transferable skills as I have almost 20 years of experience in marketing, 10 of which have been gained across the public sector (including local government, education and health and social care), alongside a short term voluntary role for the NSPCC.
I would really appreciate any advice, guidance, tips or anything else that might help me make the switch.
Thanks so much in advance!
Karen
