Here are some examples of some what I've endured in the past 12 months:
  • The Office Bearers denying that the committee are trustees (took a month of bluster and lies before they conceded)
  • You find a committee member (Treasurer) serving their fourth year despite the constitution limiting terms to three
  • And EGM is called to approve minor changes to the constitution, but the calling notice gives 7 day's notice, doesn't include the changes or state a time ... and the Chair is aware but carries on regardless
  • All email from the Chair or Secretary is sent to the committee BCC so there is no route to reply to all
  • The constitution is rarely referred to for the sake of convenience
  • The Secretary repeatedly stalls requests when asked for the names of the committee members
  • The majority of the trustees don't care
The Chair and Secretary are not standing for re-election at the AGM but will stay on the committee. The Treasurer leaves at the end of the month and is to be replaced by someone with the same tainted mindset. I will leave at the AGM.

There are clear grounds to lodge a concern of mismanagement with the regulator - the trustees cannot hold full and frank discussions and make collective decisions if they do not know who their fellow trustees are.
Is it worth it? I doubt it. OSCR are likely to only issue a knuckle wrap and there appears to be little desire for meaningful change within the committee.
Incompetence wins.
