Hi everyone! This is my first post, so please be gentle with me! I moved from mainstream retail into the more exciting; challenging and rewarding charity retail world two years ago; and since February I have been the Learning & Development Lead for Royal Trinity Hospice.

I am finding that my role is far wider and any previous remit I had, and that it seeps into all sorts of areas in our relatively small Retail team. As it's a new role there are lots of things I could get into but I'm taking my time to work out what is going to make the biggest impact and return.

Is anyone else in this position; or has been in this position please? If so do you have any advice for me? 

How did people get everyone on board with the importance of training and staff development? I am also looking at apprenticeships as part of the role, so again, any tales from your experiences would be most welcome!
