Redundancy or end of contract?

I have worked for a year at a charity on a full time contract in a job I love where I have worked very hard and gone the extra mile on several occasions. Sadly I was told a few weeks ago that there was a restructuring taking place in the organisation and my role of coordinator and operations facilitator would cease to exist. I am being made redundant with no redundancy pay as I have only been working there for a year. 
The CEO in order to protect the brand of the charity asked me if for the comms notice being sent out to inform the rest of the 6 staff and 400 volunteers of my departure if they could say I was at the end of my contract and not the fact I had been made redundant! I have found this ask to be highly unethical and dishonest. The only win is for the charity, whom I incidentally raised 26K for 3 weeks ago as part of a 36 hour charity extra fundraiser despite knowing I was being made redundant...
Any advice or feedback would be very welcome.
