Renewal of Charity company

Admin

If there is no activity or very little activity in the Charity company limited by guarantee would I be able to send in the paperwork for renewal myself or would that be too complicated? Or is there a qualified person that can do it for a very reasonable fee? Thank you

Companies house will require you to file dormancy, you can gather the info from their website. The Charity Commission is different, they may just straight up remove after a period as a company cannot hold endowment there is no measure of justicial oversight required to protect the public interest over unspent or unspendable assets. You also have to be aware of what exactly you are buying into here, Companies House dont care about the under 5MILLION companies but believe me the Charity Commission does and will vet new trustees if they see the need, I know this!

You may have to contact Companies House to see whether they would require you to send in an annual return. As far as the Charities Commission goes in England & Wales you don't need to send in accounts or complete an annual return if your annual income is £5,000 or less. Actually go and have a look on the website. OSCR - the Charities Commission in Scotland require accounts even if your income is £1 in a financial year - what a waste f trees being cut down.
