Nicky is Founding Chief Executive of Create (founded 2003), the vision for which she had in 2002.
She is an entrepreneur with a commitment to social justice and has over 20 years experience at executive level in orchestral and arts education charities. She started her career at KPMG before joining Manchester Camerata and then City of London Sinfonia. In 1999, she was asked to become Chief Executive of the Orchestra of St John's in London, where she pioneered community outreach to include work with homeless people and prisoners.
Nicky is a sought after speaker and participant on panel debates both nationally and internationally, from Akolade's Not for Profit Income Generation conference in Sydney to The Garage conference on The Arts, Disability and Change in Norwich and Positive News's Annual Inspiration event in London.
Last year she was runner-up for the Directory of Social Change Influencer award. She previously won a #SocialCEO award (2015), Charity Times Rising CEO Star Highly Commended award (2014) and Clarins Most Dynamisante Woman of the Year award (2013).
Beyond Create, Nicky is Vice-Chair of the Queens Nursing Institute, an advisor to the Pro Youth Philharmonia and a Samaritans Listening Volunteer.
Nicky has a First Class BSc (Hons) in Management Sciences Marketing (with arts) from Lancaster University, the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma, and Certificates in Theology & Religious Studies and History of Art from Birkbeck College, University of London, the latter for which she was awarded a Distinction.
