I am a a volunteer co-ordinator for LifeLines, a charity which befriends prisoners on death row in the USA, and joined the Committee as a Trustee in October 2019.
I've always maintained an active involvement with non-profit organisations, and in my capacity as an executive coach and consultant, completed a review of the talent related benefits of Trustee Board Placement for the NCVO/Trustees Unlimited programme, Step on Board. Other clients I have worked with in the sector include Amnesty International, Compassion in World Farming, Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, OnPurpose, Sightsavers International, 38 Degrees and Martlets Hospice. I previously served for nearly four years as a Trustee for The Body Shop Foundation.
I have been a supporter of Amnesty International since my late teens and am a member of Reprieve.
I was lucky to spend my earlier career working with two world-changing brands - Apple in the 1980s and The Body Shop in the 1990s - progressing from IT management into supply chain development and work with global teams on major business change.
My day job at Mile One Limited is in coaching teams and leaders of teams to address their biggest challenges: collaboration; change; and career clarity.
