In my time working in the third sector, I have come across a lot of organisations that are too big to be able to run their finances on the back of an envelope but too small to be able to justify paid in-house financial expertise. Some sort themselves out a financially astute Treasurer with time to spend supporting them, which is ideal. But if thats not available, it strikes me that organisations still need advice and support on tap, and so Ive established welbeck - accountancy services for the third sector.
Frankly an accountant should not be left alone to design accountancy support services, wedded as we are to the jargon and the arcane ways of double entry book-keeping. So, in the spirit of the Lean Startup (and indeed all its forerunners which are based around talking to customers and continuous improvement) I develop the services I offer as I get advice (explicit and implicit) from the people who want my support, and these services fall roughly into 4 categories:
consultancy, training, accountancy and independent examination.
